1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 4 speed

It goes without saying that Ford placed the auto industry on notice when it introduced the Mustang in mid 1964. With a variety of engine and transmission choices and three body styles it rocked the market and forced the mindset of the corporate auto world to adjust and fast. Of those three body styles the 2+2 was likely the most radical and innovative. It was the body style Shelby elected to use to showcase his engineering prowess in and immediately rocked not only the racing community but every kid that had aspirations of being the next Fangio or Parnelli Jones. This particular example started out life as a pretty basic example it was the entry level 6 cylinder 3 speed with no options. Its previous owner had it for over 25 years and played with it a little at a time as he could. It has had floors replaced and they were done well and it is finished in red oxide primary. The V8/4 speed drive line is solid and it runs out strong. The negative is the paint and finish. It needs to be redone and we have elected to let the new owner choose what they would like to do with the color and to what level they would like to take the car. These fastbacks usually sell for well in the upper $30k range. This one will allow its new owner to get into a Mustang 2+2 at a very reasonable amount and build the exact car they want. Most of the heavy lifting is done here so don't be bashful.
